So this year I got accepted into my University's one and only creative writing course! Yay! So anyway, here are some of the poems that my professor really loved.
A Nazi Lovesong
A blitzkrieg of sound-
schutzstaffel sonata,
your panzer invading my senses.
What is the source of your power,
man? And
how does your
tenor
control all that I am?
I am lost in your reich of
pitch, harmony.
Chord me into submission,
baby.
Toki
Tomcat; unfixed, aggressive-
begs for dinner on my lap.
Part dog, part man, part wild thing,
not knowing the conventions
laid out for his behaviour.
Unabashed beauty: he has
one blue eye, one brown, soft fur.
Always ready for play, pounce,
on unsuspecting victim.
Butches Delight
Woman; I am stone for you, your face so pretty.
You’re a butches delight, my Sapphic score.
When I undress your body in a flurry,
your breasts, bounty, from your shirt they spill.
And I sink my teeth into your silken ankle.
Hannah, (daddy isn’t coming home)
Long green moss, she grabs softly,
slowly, like the smooth dark curls.
With ache, deserted infant feels the cold
of small angel snow rubbing her bloody.
She edges to the fireplace, always empty.
Scherzo di Leonardo
You can’t forget to put the
eyebrows on.
I stayed up all night
shaping them,
painstakingly selecting
unruly hairs
and banishing them
with gold tipped tweezers.
My crowning glory.
My fine
Italian brows,
spun like
heaven filament.
Paint them last.
Make them count.
Let my one vanity
be remembered
forever.
